SWOT

Enviromental Factor #1

If the university is facing budget constraints or cuts, it could limit the funding available for marketing and expanding urgent care services. There might also be limitations in hiring qualified healthcare staff, affecting the quality and scope of the services ofered. A negative economic impact could lead to reduced funding for health
programs, making it dificult to maintain competitive pricing and service quality. According
to the research provided, “Our economy is weak, industrial production is down, jobless
claims are rising, consumer confidence has plummeted, and credit is hard to get”
(University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing, 2016).

Negative Economic Factor:Poor Financials

Positve Factor: Technology

Environmental Factor #2

Technology can enhance the
marketing capabilities. We can leverage social media, email campaigns, and websites like
one.iu to reach students quickly and effectively. Most students are highly active online,
therefore promoting the service via mobile apps and online check-in systems create
convenience and increase student engagement. The use of electronic health records can
simplify services, ensuring students medical histories are easily accessible

Competitive Analysis

A competitor of Urgent Care Services within Campus Health would be a place like CVS MinuteClinic. CVS MinuteClinic offers walk-in healthcare services and is present in many locations, including those near universities. While they’re not exclusively focused on students, CVS MinuteClinic caters to a large portion of the same audience. CVS MinuteClinic positions itself as a convenient, affordable alternative to traditional doctor's offices or emergency rooms for non-emergency care. The clinic differentiates itself by offering extended hours, weekend availability, and walk-in services, which are not always available at university-based health centers. The scope of services the clinic offers is primary care, preventative care, wellness and monitoring, telehealth, and pharmacy.

Strengths of the clinic include being located inside the store patients can access care near where they shop and they’re open during evenings and weekends, unlike many university health centers, which may have more restricted hours. Weaknesses of the clinic include experiencing longer wait times since it's open to the public and it may not offer the same low-cost services that a university health center can. A real advantage is the integration with CVS pharmacies, as students and staff can get prescriptions filled immediately after their visit.
